What is SIWES?

The Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) is a mandatory industrial training program for students of Hussaini Adamu Federal Polytechnic (HAFEDPOLY). It is designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical work experience.

SIWES is supervised by the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) and the National Universities Commission (NUC) to ensure students gain relevant hands-on experience in their field of study.

Eligibility Requirements

To participate in SIWES at HAFEDPOLY, students must meet the following criteria:

Academic Requirements
  • Must be a full-time student at HAFEDPOLY
  • Must have completed at least one academic year
  • Must have a minimum CGPA of 2.50
  • Must be in an accredited program (ND/HND)
Documentation Requirements
  • Completed SIWES application form
  • Approved SIWES placement letter
  • Student ID card copy
  • Academic transcript
  • Medical fitness certificate

Application Process

Step 1: Online Registration

Log in to the HAFEDPOLY SIWES Portal and complete the registration form.

Step 2: Upload Required Documents

Submit scanned copies of your ID card, transcript, and other necessary documents.

Step 3: Approval & Placement

The SIWES coordinator will verify your application and assign an approved industry placement.

Step 4: Orientation

Attend a mandatory SIWES orientation session before starting your training.

Step 5: Begin Training

Report to your assigned organization and commence your industrial training.
